Auto demonstration sequences.
Giga Wing is a vertically scrolling arcade shooter game developed by Takumi and published by Capcom on the CPS-2 arcade system board. Released in year 1999, the game is notable for using a horizontally aligned monitor, which is rare for a vertical shooter. The player chooses one of four different craft and shoots through seven stages. At the end of each level the player fights a boss character, such as a battleship, a huge bomber, or a building sized tank.

  • Games appear to lose they're visual-color by the late-90s & starts exhibiting the monochromatic-colors of the 00s video-games

  • @Deader87 Ala Gears of War, monochrome unsaturated colors.

  • CPS2 was beastly hardware.

  • @BillyCauseyjr No doubt!

  • Chinatown Fair had a Giga Wing cabinet for years and it is still there to this day. Never saw one anywhere else.

  • @Soukyugurentai The experience of playing these games from a real arcade cabinet is awesome, the booming sounds, something about the resonance of the cab's wood enclosure, or something, it's not the same on a console.

  • @narox Yup you wouldn't exactly associate Gears Of War with let's Savage Reign or Samurai Showdown would you?

  • I see. ::)

  • I was about to mention Mars Matrix, since they have similarities but MM is even more hardcore, in terms of bullet-filled screens and the reflection can be achieved in small bursts making it really hectic..

  • WOOhoo my dreamcast is back up!

    The spindle motor had died...I used the one from an old dc but there were alignment problems at first. And I thought it was really dying for a time!..I guess I am a lucky guy.

    Incidentally, this was the game in it when it failed...
