Loud fans used to be a sign of the times back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. As late as 2004-2005, GlobalWin was selling a heatsink with a 7000RPM Delta 60x38mm Black Label fan that would scream like a howler monkey all day long. I don't know how people managed to stay sane with something like that in the room.

@the1337onyxx omfg, this is exactly the clip I was looking for. My friend had this same heatsink/fan and it was unbearably loud. Problem was at the time, it was those new AMD Thunderbird chips and those ran super freaking hot and these were the only things that were able to cool them properly.
