The American Pit Bull Terrier is not a breed that will fit into any household. Please do your research on the breed before considering owning one - there are many dogs lives that will depend on you, so make your choice wisely. Get to know the breed as much as possible before bringing one into your home and make sure that they will fit your lifestyle. This is a breed that was bred for bull baiting and hog hunting - they are tenacious, intelligent, quick, and have an extremely high pain tolerance. Animal aggression seen in the breed is not because of a genetic evilness, but simply because they have strong terrier instincts. Terriers are a group of dogs that have been bred for centuries to be natural game killers. If you cannot handle that responsibility, or if you cannot handle their extreme strength, energy, and intelligence, please do not choose an American Pit Bull Terrier. Remember that a dog is a 12+ year committement. Once you get a dog, they are your responsibility until death do you part.

I hate the person who either cut that dogs eye out, or if they just sewed their eye flaps together.... Either way, i hate them. If it was poked out, then i understand it being sewed together. That way it doesn't get infected. People disgust me.

@Redtim911 I believe you're talking about the small brown puppy with a stitched up eye... his/her eye was kicked out by the owner. The puppy died several weeks after being rescued due to parvo.

@CoronaTheFatCat This is true, Pit Bulls were originally bred for bull baiting, as well as ratting! ;) They were perfect for the job because of their agility and stamina (they are very quick and have an extremely high pain tolerance - perfect for a dog messing with large bulls). Dog fighting wasn't introduced until after the banning of bull baiting.

The pitbull is such a loyal breed. They have patience no other dog could. I love this breed so much and just got to love this song. It's a beautiful song. Got to save our breed because times is running out. My pitbulls mean the world to me and would fight for them any day.

There are much nicer and safer dogs then these unpredictable cockroaches of the canine world. I have had a lot of critters, but I would these would never own dogs. I say huskies, labs , border collies and cats are the ways to go! I just don't see what people in these beasts

i choose my pit because he was cute and ik its not the dogs that come naturally mean its the owners that miss treat them and i wanted to prove to my family that a pitt bull is just as nice as any other dog out there as long as u show it some love and dont miss treat him bc he will love u back if u love him.
