Sorry, that dog doesn't hunt... Obama said that he would liaise with the world powers before launching any nuclear attack. He did not leave that off the table, but you have to know that Israel is very capable of defending herself. In regards to Pakistan... He said that "IF" we had verifiable information that AQ was there and "IF" the Paki govt refused to step up to the plate.. then "YES" we would go in with force. That is a big difference and you seem to have a very biased lens of the world.

Obama himself has been careless with words when he thretned a unilateral attack against terroists in Pakistan should he have actionable intelligence, with or without consent of Pakistan. That sparked international headlines to riots and complaints from officils in Pakistan, as it is a soverign nation & a US ally so u don't fight a US war on their soil without their consent. Both of them should follow Hilary's earlier advice of not engaging in these hypothetical questions.

It must be made clear that Hillary and Obama both advocated the same approach, in that a hypothetical nuclear attack launched by Iran on Israel would result in a a nuclear response as they both said in debate, as he said on MTP , as he said here. That's Cold War DETTERENT policy to prevent both sides risking consequences of attack. It was just the explitcetness of language "obliterte" that caused a stir, although that's what woul happen with any nuclear attack, and they advocted same approach.
