This footage is of the drive from my hotel in the Doqqi district of central Cairo to the Cairo International Airport, a distance of about 12 miles, when I was flying out to Ghana that evening via Egyptair.
The main road that features in this footage is the Salah Salem freeway, and later, the El Oroba freeway as we approach the airport. I was being driven to the airport by a Saudi, and part of the conversation is caught on film.
The length of the clip, taking into account that I paused the camera several times, aludes to the length of the drive from downtown Cairo to the Airport. In a taxi, a good rate at the time was about 45 Egyptian Pounds, but most drivers will quote you 80 or so to begin with, so be prepared to barter !
