As a (operating on the fringe) Lubavitcher myself I do not see a problem with playing the Alter Rebbe's niggun. I understand it is supposed to be reserved for special occasions, but if it brought joy to people, and helped spread chassidus wouldn't that be worthy of a niggun?
How about some Niggunei Simcha too?

I've been working on quite a few. I hope to post them after exams. This was just an initial sacrifice I guess.

You play beautifully! wow.... on the cello it is haunting. Please play more Chabad niggunim! I'd like to put in a special request for the Alter Rebbe's niggun or Shamil :)

Thanks. I hope to. I'll look for the notes for Shamil. I have the music for many other niggunim.
The only thing is it okay for me to just stam play the alter rebbe's niggun?
