Cool interview.

I like Aronofsky, but I didn't think "The Fountain" was all that great.
-
I wanna hear Opie and Anthony tear Robin apart.

The Fountain is a very good film, it's just an extremely layered, and rich film that needs repeated viewing. I think the only criticism I would have of The Fountain is that it is too brief, it's 90 minutes, and there's enough in the story for it to be 2 hours at least. If you haven't seen The Fountain see it, but don't judge it until you've watched it twice. That's my advice. Black Swan for best film at the 2011 Oscars!

@Metropolis2112 Absolutely man, Ridley Scott made his first film 'The Duelists' for nothing and even put up a huge amount of money of his own for an insurance bond, Francis Coppola nearly bankrupt himself and risked losing his entire estate making Apocalypse now, If more filmmakers were willing to do that for thier art there would be far more quality movies made.

@TEAMHBO That's not why...The Director, who auditioned him explained it clearly...weren't you listening? Artie did a fine job, but was too recogniable, and would have taken the audience out of the story. I've been in film for over 25 years, and can tell you firsthand, that even a great concept for a film can be ruined with even one wrong decision. Aronofsky is a very smart director.

@pulsating123 In her defense , she did hit the nail on the head on "The Fountain", which was awful. I'm surprised that he was able to get any money after that piece of crap.

Opie and Anthony Rules

Shut up robin you fucking suck up
-
exactly!!!
Holy crap is Robyn a cow...she's one to criticize a top movie director. What the hell has that idiot accomplished other than adding an moronic laugh-track and agree with every thing Howard says.
