OLDS STARFIRE MODELS WERE 2ND FROM THE TOP MODELS WITH THE OLDS 98 AT THE TOP. ALL BIG OLDSMOBILES RODE ON A 123 INCH WHEELBASE, BUT THE STARFIRE MODELS FEATURED BUCKET SEATS AND CAME ONLY AS A HARDTOP OR CONVERTIBLE. STARFIRE'S CAME WITH A 394 CID V-8 THAT PUSHED 345 BHP. POWERFUL ENGINE TO BE SURE. A CONVERTIBLE STARFIRE COSTS $4,753 AND WEIGHED IN AT 4,253 LBS. ALTHOUGH SALES OF OLDS PRODUCTS ROSE TO A TOTAL OF 494,000 UNITS, OLDS PLACE IN SALES SLIPPED FROM 5TH TO 7TH. CONVERTIBLES OF ALL MAKES IN '64 STILL WERE POPULAR SO IT'S PUZZLING WHY ONLY 2,400 OF STARFIRE CONVERTIBLES SOLD. THIS IS A GREAT ORIGINAL SURVIVOR WITH ORIGINAL MIDNIGHT MIST PAINT AND UPHOSTERY. METALLIC UPHOSTERY WAS A POPULAR TREND IN THE MID-SIXTIES. THIS IS DEFINETLY A WELL MAINTAINED OLD OLDS. Another original survivor car brought to you by 55lincoln. THANKS VERY MUCH FOR VIEWING.

  • This car is NOT sporting the original wheel covers however... The original Starfire wheel covers were much more elaborate. These wheel discs were found on the Super and Dynamic models. Nice example of this car however! Thanks for sharing.

  • @uboob67 Thanks for your observation. Perhaps the owners couldn't find the correct wheel covers and settled for whatever he could. I'm glad the rest of this Olds is original. Thanks for enjoying this video and your contribution.

  • My father had an Starfire convertible just like this one, even the same color! Very nice car.

  • @lgroulx2000 I'm glad I could provide a identical Starfire like your Dad's - same color even! Nothing like old car memories. Thanks for enjoying this.

  • Nice color ~ rich looking,,,,

  • @59cadcoupe This color is sorta like a midnight blue which really looks good on this car. And it does make it look rich. Glad you enjoyed this video and thanks very much for subscribing to 55lincoln.

  • @historybuffish Thanks, it is a dream convertible.

  • Sharp and brilliant.

  • @OLDS98 Thanks very much Olds Fan. I like Oldsmobiles also. I once had a '76 Cutlass Supreme Brougham with T-tops and wire wheels.
