Lu Watters Yerba Buena Jazz Band had a profound influence on the Revivalist jazz scene in the 1940's. They opened in the Dawn Club on Annie Street in San Francisco in the autumn of 1939. They played traditional New Orleans tunes as well as their own compositions. Minstrels of Annie Street is one of the latter, written by trombonist Turk Murphy.

  • A great piece Ron - and so well made too.

  • I love this band!

  • I wish my Mother could see this! And even more, I wish I could travel back through time and visit the Dawn Club with her. Mom, Turk...I miss you guys. It's a lesser world without you.

  • A well put together slideshow. A lot of hard work has gone into making it.
