The microphone jack is a MAJOR jailure point for the Uniden pro-510xl, id say the same about the 520xl if the mic jack is soldered directly to the main board!

I have 3 radio's....one of them being this one and I have to say, it is my oldest radio and my favorite. I run it bare stock...no mod's ...nothing..and it works great in my dump truck. Been running this radio for almost 5 yrs now...even the same fuse in the power cord!!

well my brother has had the Uniden pro 520 for 12 years he got it when he was six and it is hooked up to is truck with a Radioshack magnet mount it never ever has had a problem with it and i have a friend who has a uniden pro 510 he got it when he was 13 and is hooked up to his house as a basestation with an antrom 99 but it died on him yesterday so they are good radios

*I had one of these radios for about 4 or 5 years...great radio when stepping up to ya first radio that has an RF gain.The receive and transmit are good but much better with a peaking of the audio and a powermic.I ran a noise filter when i hooked up the power to make sure the recieve was nice and clean when turning on other stuff in the car(wipers and heater fan)A filter is good insurance that the sensitive radio recieve wont pickup stray noise.

I've had 1 or 2 of these radio's, and it's a junk radio. I had nothing but problem's with this radio. I would NEVER recommend this radio! The only other radio that was worse then this one is a Radio Shack.

That's surprising - our customers have had really, really good luck with them. Can you tell me what issues you had with the radio?
