What EUR said. I'm all for the president to be elected by the people, but guess what. Then the anti EU folks will start crying "But then my country will no longer be able to decide the president". You must understand that in order to increase European democracy you have to take power from the member states and give it to the people and the anti EU does not want to take power from the member states. The anti EU is the biggest obstacle to more democracy in Europe!

LOL your grasp of the EU is pretty limited :)
Let me enlighten you .... the European Union is run by and for the member states.
You want the EU to be run by the people? Support a federal EU for that is the only way you'll get it :)
