@kotapaka modern wushu is a sport made from traditionnal martial art that were used in combat, but this kind of wushu is the wushu sport, which is an acrobatic and self control sport. its like the karate open kata competition u see on tv. backflip and crockscrew dont come from karate,

@ratonni Check the meaning of the word "martial". Here is the definition of "martial art": any of several Oriental arts of weaponless self-defense. So pretty much what you're saying is that wushu is a form of ballet or some sort of modern dance style because by definition martial arts are used for self defense/military purposes.
