  • P.S. Is that a C harp??

What Position are you playing this jazzy piece in???

  • Yes...actually, in jazz pieces, we prefer not to talk in terms of positions but in terms of keys. It's all about communication with musicians that don't practice the same instrument as yours. Positions concept is specific of harmonica.

  • any overblows in there boabazz???

    What computer progam is that??

  • hello funkatrol, you're young but you seem to already knwo a lot about harmonica. Yes, there are overblows in it ;)

  • oops..it posted before I finished. :) just got back from Spah 2008,St.Louis. Some great playing there too. Of course you don't need to play a chromatic. I do and am hoping to get better on chromatic jazz, but there's a world of music out there to explore on both instruments and you've a great ear and play great diatonic jazz. Keep up the good work!

    Elizabeth

  • Good sir, beautiful playing. I am floored by diatonic harmonica jazz.

Could you please inform us where you get a hold of the instrumental background music you solo over? Would greatly appreciate it!

Peace and Love from Boston, MA U.S.A.

  • (more)Stellar performances: Rodrigo Eberenios (Brasil), so many others I can't think of right now. I taped a lot but haven't yet been able to dupe what I caught for the performers due to an upcoming surgery. When I do, I'm sure some will get onto YouTube. Wish I'd heard you play last year..were you in the blues jams? - missed most of those. Young-at-Harp had a strong presence this year and played wonderfully. Julian Davis already is a strong jazz player on chrom. Vive le jazz harmonique!

  • Hi Mathieu: unfortunately, I didn't get to participate too much due to a shoulder injury, so missed some shows, and SPAH had a lot of jazz/blues scheduled at the same time, so had to choose...the performances were wonderful: sat. night Will Galison and Willi Burger; but you would have enjoyed Peter 'Madcat' Ruth, Chris Michalek,George Brooks,James Conway,Jason Ricci (who hosted the Blowoff and stayed over for one more day)...tons of great playing, Randy Singer and two nights of jazz jam.

  • Hi: did you actually go to Spah last year? you're now being talked about(and this video shown by one of our best diatonic players) on harp-l :) (if you're not a member, you should sign up), lots of other great diatonic players there too. Just got back from Spa
