Uterine prolapse is where the muscles holding the uterus in place weaken and the uterus womb) falls out through the vagina. It is thought to be suffered by 600,000 women in Nepal. It is mainly caused by hard physical work too soon after childbirth. Uterine prolapse is entirely preventable , easily reversed at stage 1, and horribly painful and shameful to the Nepalese Women affected. Health workers and genuine public awareness is urgently needed.
Yes, prolapse uterus has become a chief reproductive health issue of Nepal. Not only the far western Nepal but also the urban and peri urban areas are not being so far from its Net.we should really appreciate the organization working to control the prolpase uterus cases.Being a Nepalese physcial therapist what i know is attention is more diverted on the curative aspect ie hystrectomy but not on physical therapy which is a chief preventive strategy and should be staretd promptly.

The question is: why does this happen in the first place? From the harmful posture that the women take while they sit and weave, make pots and other artwork. Please look at Christine Kent's videos and information on this very subject. Take back your lives, all women the world over!
