When she was 19 years old, Tamara Mena suffered a debilitating spinal injury that left her paralyzed from the chest down. Today she is working as an exoskeleton "test pilot" at Ekso Bionics, putting this new technology through its paces. Someday exoskeletons like the one she is testing may give paraplegics the ability to stand up and walk. This is her story.

Amazing Tamara! I hope the system will be soon further developped to allow a totally autonomous walking without any sticks for few miles.
Thousands of disable people around the world should be dreaming of this!

I was greatly inspired by this. My 11 year old daughter was in a car accident and had a spinal infusion from T4. I hope this research will assist for others like my daughter.
