Really? I love it. Keeps his tip forward ready for stop hit, or attack in prep, while weight is ever so slightly forward so that he is ready to run. And since he is ready to go, that gives him more time to execute these actions if the opportunity arises. I think it's a great strategy given the lock out times and hit timing.
