Fiskars axes are pretty awesome for getting through logs when camping. This particular log is Aspen.

  • I don't have the Fiskars splitting axe, just their chopping axe. I split my wood with it with a lot of effort. I'm sure the maul is better than the one I have for that, but I'd really like to try Fiskars splitting maul.

  • How does it perform on people?

  • Is that the Fiskars X15 axe your/his using there?

I hear the Fiskars Super Splitter is great for splitting wood...although lots of folks use heavy mauls, too. IMHO, I'd go with the lighter tool (Fiskars SS) because it ought not wear you out as much as a heavy maul and you'll most likely split more wood with the Fiskars SS. For the gnarly wood, you'll probably need some wedges no matter if you use a maul or Fiskars SS.

Also, the Fiskars handles are "unbreakable." With a maul, you'll probably break the handle every now and then ($)

  • Really good, you look like somehow who really knows how to buck a long. Just take it slow tho.

  • good work! thats how its done.

  • Your form is bad but I can't argue with your results lol. That is some nice choppin.

  • I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay....
