THE STRAW WOMEN WHO MADE BRICKS Play -March 15, 2011- Joshua's House for Christian Artist will be celebrating this prelude too our 1 year Anniversary of this awesome Christian Play by:IZOLA BIRD

This play is based on a biblical story from the Book of Exodus about when a Pharaoh told the slaves to make brick without straw. We, as women, go about our daily life and can find ourselves in a similar situation. Someone is always telling us what we can and cannot do. We have suffered so many things and so have many strong women before us. We make ends meet when we have little; we stretch five dollars and make it look like we spend ten. This is also a reminder of the virtuous women who made something out of nothing. We have to remain strong as women, and do what it takes to help our families. Sometimes we find ourselves in a difficult situation and we don't know which way to turn. Sometimes these situations aren't pretty; in fact they can be dangerous, shameful, and embarrassing. We are the ones who have weathered the storm, even if it seems like the storm will never pass over. We have been beaten to the ground until, if it weren't for God, we would have been ready to give up on life. We go through very hard times and we don't know how we are going to make it. Some of us fall by the wayside and others do what it takes to get the job done. We bare the burdens; our husbands, children and others. We are strong women and we don't know what we are made of until we fall into divers of temptation. Yes, sometimes we do fall and we go beyond our means and think there is no other way out. We have to trust in God and let him guide us or find the straw to make bricks. We don't need a sugar daddy to help us make it, but many of us have resorted to such decisions. Some of us have turned to the street just to pay our bills and keep food on our tables. We get caught up and don't know how to get out of compromising situations. Sometimes we fall into traps that are meant for others and before long we get caught up. Our husbands treat us badly, and then we do the same to ourselves. How long shall I hold on to his promise? We ask God, "Are you the one or shall I look for another?" Luke 7: 19, "I am tired. I am so tired of going through this pain and misery. This is more than I can bear
