Black History in Litchfield

The Litchfield Historical Society hosted "Tasting the "Sweets of Liberty: African Americans in Litchfield" as the final part of a lecture series for Black History month in February at the Litchfield Historical Society. Local historian, Lynne Brickley described the presence and experiences of the town's African Americans. Through her extensive research, Ms Brickley uncovered a wealth of new information on the African Americans in Litchfield from colonial times to the twentieth century.
