Justice Not Crisis (JNC) is a direct action pressure group, based in Birmingham, which focuses on social housing issues. This audio slideshow takes you inside a squat [a real property that is under "adverse possession" in contrast to the "paper owner" as represented by the computer entry as represented on the Land Register as documented at HM Land Registry] once occupied by the group at 318 Pershore Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham - and talks to those involved about the increasingly destabilising problem of homelessness in the U.K.

According to JNC: "There are 30,000 people on the waiting list for homes, and many people sleeping rough on the streets of Birmingham. Most people feel that it's criminal for property owners (who should have no automatic right to land when it is left vacant - when so many people are currently homeless) to leave buildings empty, just so that the paper owner - which can be a bank, building society, investment trust, company or even an offshore tax avoidance non-domiciled person from the UK who can make far more profit in the future if the property is used as a speculative asset and left vacant."

Be aware that many of the Council homes in the UK are being quasi privatised as TMOs or privatised and/or sold off - often to people new to this country who see the purchase of ex council properties as a way to speculate on other people's misery!

Manyy of the Housing Associations [known as Registered Social Landlords ("RSLs") are being sold off with the Rent Re-structuring passed by New LABOUR Party to deliberately target the poor, non working & the most vulnerable!

Social Alienation leads to crime, addiction, social problems, health problems, social security issues.

What was a mere "housing" issue - when not addressed - tends to become a MAJOR problem for virtually every Government service provider!

Short -sightedness by central Goverment is seen for what it is - targeting the indigeous population by central government tends to lead to Alienation of the whole Community!

"Justice" in my understanding looks to the past - PRECEDENTS - that are invariably UNJUST!

Invariably, Acts of Parliament are given EUPHEMISMS when they seek to take away very well-established LEGAL RIGHTS!

Example: "ACCESS TO JUSTICE ACT" was in reality a massive DENIAL TO LEGAL AID!

Excellent work. Birmingham City Council made me live in burned out flat for 7 years before doing repairs. They removed 2 large windows in 2004, they only replaced them in 2006 which ruined frames, ( hanging out wall ) Fixed in 2008. I have evidence that they changed statements to get me convicted of assault aswell after I protested after 2 years without toilet. They wrap you up in paperwork and lie.
