I have an HP Pavilion dv7 1285dx laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. It's a modern laptop with a dual core Intel x64 processor. I tried to install NetBSD under VirtualBox (a VM manager). Neither the x386 nor AMD64 versions of NetBSD installed.
What version of NetBSD should I use, or is this perhaps a VirtualBox issue? Note, I am already running Linux under VirtualBox.
Not interested in any configurations except running under VirtualBox. Can't change system.

I might get netBSD.. or should I get freeBSD or openBSD? I just want an OS that doesn't crash.. Mac isn't crash-free after all.
