LEE KALT's NEW VOCAL SONDOS SMASH HIT
Brand new on Sondos this week comes a full-on vocal tune with a classic sound that's the product of many musical minds.
Lee Kalt steered the ship as the track slowly took shape, starting off with African vocalist MLU.
"I met MIu through George Valliades, president of Panda Rhand clothing." He tells us. "We're in partnership with my own House Music TV company but I discovered that George also had many contacts around the globe with up-and-coming vocalists -- MLU was one of them."
"Once the vocals were locked down with MLU I brought Mark Alston to my own coastline studios in Mamaroneck, New York," he continues, "where we hammered out all of those melodic uplifting cords that make the record sing so nicely.
"I emailed the track to Erick Morillo this summer while he was in Ibiza and he called me back right away with one of his super emergency S.O.S. phone calls completely excited about the project. That's when we knew it was a hit, however we both felt it needed something more.
"Erick suggested that Harry Romero, who I've never worked with before, could give it a little extra 'bump' that would push it over the edge. So I took it to Harry's studio in New Jersey where we did the finishing touches.
Lee always had a clear vision for the sound of the record, which included a wide range of influences.
"I was a really big fan of the Sneaky Sound System and Tiesto record, 'I Will Be Here,' because it had a very similar vibe to my own record 'Kiss and Fly' (a big hit on Subliminal).
"The two records went very well when played one after another in a set, therefore on 'It's Over Now' I wanted to give the record a similar cord progression, while also having the vocals more soulful and deep which I thought would complement the Sondos label well.
"When I listen to 'It's Over Now' it gives me hints of a Tina Turner type vibe, which I really like."
Lee continues to enjoy his key role in Erick's plans for Sondos, with plenty lined-up for an exciting 2011.
"I'm really happy with everything so far and I feel like we're just getting warmed up," smiles Lee. "I think with the release of 'It's Over Now' I'll really start to feel at home on Sondos as much as I do on LK Recordings, my own label.
"We have a bunch of heavy artillery coming down the pipeline for 2011. I've just written a new song called 'Came To Believe' featuring Missus M which Erick Morillo has indicated could be the next big one... Beyond that we have 'It's Ecstasy' and 'The Truth Will Set You Free' soon to follow.
"For the rest of this year I am finishing our House Music TV Fall US Tour, performing in New York City, Miami Beach, Washington D.C., Scottsdale, LA, San Diego and Denver.

@grimsrage MAIN STREAM, yea right, it might seem like House music is in MIA or LA or LV but everywhere else no one knows what it is or heard of it. To most Americans, House music (when you explain to them) is Techno, and they dont understand thats their are subgenres that include House, Trance, Dance, Hardstyle, Dubstep, DnB, etc.
Trust me, ive witness it multiply times in different states
