SIG 522: "Tactical .22 Done Right" by Nutnfancy

Imagine a Tactical .22 carbine that will feed pretty much whatever rounds you throw in it. If it seems far fetched then you must have some trigger time of similar .22s that will occasionally jam and bobble unless fed a high impulse round like CCI Mini Mags, which are more expensive. The Sig 522 achieved amazing reliability in the Nutnfancy testing regime with several brands and types of rounds...not one jam in over 2,000 rounds fired! And most of those rounds were low quality Federal WalMart HP ammo that gives my other tested guns fits...including the CMMG AR-15 conversion. This ability to take regular quality .22 ammo makes the 522 very cheap to shoot. This stellar reliability is contained within an original and cool rifle design that mimics the Sig 550/556 Classic lines and is often mistaken as such (the fake gas block adjustment is another nice touch). Its forend is trim and ergonomic and can be accessorized with useful railing for light and VG attachment (highly recommended for tactical practice). The barrel profile is perfect for a .22 and is topped off by a standard AR-15 threaded flash suppressor...outstanding. This means the Sig 522 can readily accept a suppressor. The receive is stout, milled from 7075 aluminum and when mated with the precision bolt is one reason the gun is so reliable: the bolt rides precisely in a milled aluminum channel. This aluminum receiver should prove to be durable in the attachment of optics and wear and tear. The lower receive is polymer. The large rubber cover charging handle is excellent and allows fast recharge. Many other Sig 522 features also impress: excellent sling provisions (locktite the swivel stud), nice big blue Sig rifle hardsided carry case included, two sizes of butt pads, superb trigger (long pull, crisp letoff), last shot hold open, ambi mag release and safety, nice pistol grip, low cheek weld with the right optics (Adco Alpha 30 used in tests, Burris 3x9 Tactical tried later as well), lightweight, folding AND adjustable stock, simple Simon fieldstrip, and takes the excellent and proven BLACKDOG .22 magazine design (great job Sig). A couple of quirks that need fixing: easily stripped buttpad retention screw, detachable retention tab for the side folding feature, limited stock adjustment, and the slight wiggle that the stock possesses. Nevertheless and as currently issued, the Sig 522 endeared itself to all TNP shooters who got trigger time on it. It is fast, accurate, light, and in our testing, showed epic reliability that astounded me. for the price of this, i can't even imagine taking this over my ruger 10/22. i have an ATI stock, flash hider (i know .22lr but it looks cool as hell), 4x scope, with the TI-25 mags. and it looks great and damn reliable with federal bulk ammo. i went 1700 rounds without clean, only started to jam because i forgot to lube it that one day. a few drops of hoppes and it was good to go again.

@Intrepid4576 well before you shoot it for the first time, you might want to clean all the factory grease they put on to protect it. after cleaning you would lube all the moving parts. very very LIGHTLY lube the barrel and find the right ammo. my ruger 10/22 (fav. out of all my guns), love federal bulk which in my opinion the best bulk ammo. im sure a lot of people would agree with that also.

You must clean and lube it with the proper materials. Look it up online, there are tons of posts about cleaning firearms.

i just want to say thank you for your time and effort to do this for people that you dont even know. thanks to this video i am a proud owner of a sig 522 . shot over 4000 rounds with it within the past month. now it wears tac rails and been modded with the integrated laser in the fake gas adjuster,utg tac flashlight and a black dog 50rd drum
