  • @whole27 The prius is said to be able to go 15 miles 62mph so the rage might actually be better here is the thing though you get an EV you probably have to have a petro back up car. You could rent on weekends but eventually that trend will cause rentals to be unavaliable. Driving 15 miles on EV mode then having to do your final miles in hybrid mode is a savings? The current prius gets 51 mph just that will save you thousands if you drive a SUV. Google fuel economy go to the G website.

  • @cdltpx just 6 miles to get to work!? Well you are clearly in the minority with that. I live in the suburbs of a city so i gotta dirve in 25 miles each way and there is a lot of stop and go and highway driving each way!!! So now way is 15 miles enough. I'll wait for Toyota to improve that to at least 30 miles on battery alone!

  • My fear is the cars will be broken into for their batteries these new batteries will be lighter and could be subject to theft. I hope they make it a lengthy process to remove the battery to prevent quick and eazy thefts in parking lots or the like. Think about it somebody swipes 4 of these they could build an E hot rod or use them for solar power at their home the batteries are going to be expensive and they are going to be stolen if allowed. Better have some additional insurance.

  • @whole27 Plugin prius is perferctl for our family needs. We have a 6 mile 35 mph drive to work within the 15 miles it can go 62mph so I am guessing you can go 20 miles at lower speeds so we are well in the range for this configuration. We will not have to buy fuel but once every 2 months with our weekend use. Weekends we might go to NOLA some 40 miles away other than that the car is a work car and toyota nailed it. I rather not pay 30K for a car but I certianly rather not pay $21 for a EV alone.

  • 5 persons bought it

  • i hate these will it blend comments its a car it wont fucking blend

  • But will it blend?

  • The Chevy Volt does 40 miles on electric alone before it kicks into gas power so why can Toyota only do 12 miles on electric on their plug in that will come out!?? I wish they got 40-50 miles, i'd buy 10 of those!

And how long do these lithium batteries that are in the Prius and Volt last?? HOw much will they cost to replace after 10 years or so??

  • @KatiushaVN4 Funny, I guess every combustion engine car is just a "Model-T wannabe". Something has to come first, and if nothing followed there'd be no progress.

  • Why bother making that plug-in when the battery itself gets charged from the motor when in use?? A that is obviously a "Volt Wannabe"
