I just completed building this spruce top, with figured walnut back and sides, tenor ukulele to play during my upcoming performance at the Southern California Ukulele Festival (SCUF) on Saturday October 4 in Cerritos, California.

I'm really pleased with the sound right out of the gate and look forward to it warming up and maturing over the next several months.

I thought I would also take this opportunity to try to present a basic way to strum Gently Weeps which has been a topic on the Ukulele Underground forums.

  • @mobyfreerunner no prob. For theory Jamie Aebersold Jazz Aids is free and a just-the-facts intro to advanced theory. All I ask in return is subscribe to my channel and like all haha.

  • @customneonshirts Thanks! ill check Jim Beloff out! thank you so much for the reply :)

  • Can you let me know what you would charge for a similar model? Can you quote cutaway with fishman or belecat?

  • @mobyfreerunner My advice make sure you know theory and every inversion of every chord type. Make sure you know the strumming techniques. You can learn tonns on youtube and check out Jim Beloff's books especially the Ritz books.

  • please! can someone link me to some resources of how to make the jump from being an amateur/intermediate ukulele player to an intermediate/expert ukulele player please!, iv been sitting around the same level for a while now and im ready to move up, can anyone reply me with some help of what i can do? :(

  • PS! I'd love to have the tab that you talked about, that will be the first instrumental I play on my first ukulele. Thank you!!!

  • really nice sound and beautifully built instrument. I'm just building my first ukulele which happens to be a tenor. I've been playing on some old Martin soprano's and really am hoping to find the sound in my first few. I'm doing mostly by hand, which I find very spiritual. How thick is the back top and sides on this if you don't mind me asking? Nice playing, I'm sticking around for sure!
