I already know this doesn't sound good. I just made this head voice version of Cara Mia for those who accuse me of singing too deep in the chest voice version. The whispery, soft timbre is deliberate. I can sing with a "fuller" tone, but that makes it sound very piercing, and not in a good way. Also, I started to get a little hoarse as I recorded this because I can't sing this high and soft with proper voice production, so I didn't try to iron out the more painful notes.

  • weak. anyone can sing "high pitched" if it's whispery and you can barely hear it. this is how people sing to themselves on the bus while they're listening t their ipod. you might as well be just humming it.

  • I'm totally on board with what you're saying here. I just got sick of people complaining about my voice being too deep when I sing with proper voice production, so I just put this here to show them how crummy it sounds if I try to make it higher and softer. (It backfired, though, because they seem to prefer this version.)

If you want to know what my voice sounds like with proper voice production, you can look at my other Cara Mia video. But you probably won't like it; most people don't.

  • Was that music?

  • Did you read the description?

To answer your question, I took out all the resonance to make it sound softer, which seems to be what people want. So no, this isn't music. It's a series of languid sounds.

The one thing I can do well vocally, is a throat singing technique called Kargyraa, which I use in "The Trilingual Song". Also in the that song, I have groups of 3 lines, which each alternate between, English, Spanish, and Mandarin, rhyme, and form a coherent thought.
