Funny I didn't know you used a pair of wire cutters to clamp down the cable cap. For years I've used pliers to smash the cap down on the cable with mixed results. Would have never known it if I hadn't seen this video. I suck at bike repair.
dosent mention anything about high and low adjustments for those who dont know how to do that, cause the chain could still be slipping off the lowest gear like it was for me until i adjusted the low scew and it was fine, so dont go messing with the barrel if u havent already done this
dont buy this leaver if u want ease of use i just had to replace the calbe and its not as easy as shown on this video the guy forgets to tell u that the leaver fall to bits in your hand and the leaver binds up if u dont get it just right it real peace of shit stay away
if your replacing the cable why are you using an old one?? also if u've cut the cable so its not fused at the end just twist the cable the same way as the cable braiding.
Brief for a brief job. Helped me a lot and I had no problem routing the cable in the shifter. Just takes a little patience to work it out as to the best way to do things, such is life.
It also brushes over the biggest issue with x9 & x0 shifters, that is the unreasonably difficult task of inserting a new cable through the cable cradle. The cable has to follow a curve to get thru it and more often than not gets caught in the plastic edge of the cradle. This becomes an almost impossible task if the cable is not a brand new one with a fused end.
This is a major design flaw and i hoped to get an insider tip to do it more easily.

Very brief and with very little detail.
