1947 Chevrolet Firetruck with 900 original miles!

This is the Nevada City firetruck that I had the good fortune to work on several years ago and the misfortune to find neglected and outside this summer. It is all ok now however as new leadership is going to save many of the neat items on site. I held off posting this for so long in order to let the security issues around this truck get settled. It is safe now.

  • @truepyro28 i agree with you about the handles, gas tank, and speedo. however the one thing that the truck has that matches a 47 is the parking break. and even if that is a changeable part the handles and gauge are easier to change. idk if a hand-break was like that for fire trucks through the whole 47-53 era but i would be willing to say not.

  • wow that's cool :)

  • must be a 52 or 53. 54/55 had different grill. 47 to 51 had different door handles and a 80 mph speedo. a 47 also had the fuel tank mounted underneath on the frame and not in the cab. 52 had 30 psi oil gauge and 53 had 60 psi gauge

  • Great old truck! I love all those old fat-fendered trucks and still own my grandfathers 1953 GMC Panel Truck.
