Band: Tonyall
Album: New Girl, Old Story (1991)
Song: Telltale Signs
Who wants to bet this song gets very few hits? Tonyall is Tony Lombardo of the Descendents playing with All, and All is the Descendents with a different singer. Confused? Just go to Wikipedia if you need (I wrote the article for this album). This album is underrated I think, and not represented on youtube at all to my knowledge, so I figured I would offer up what I think is its best song. This is as pop as it gets, so it's an acquired taste. Wash it around in your mouth for a while. Enjoy!
Lyrics:
Tell me if this sounds familiar to you
The girl you know is not the girl you knew
She doesn't say the things she used to say
And the things she does she does a brand new way
She says I'm just living in the past
And our love will never last
With all this pressure
That you are under
From me and your peers
Telltale signs
She don't love you anymore
We've been through this scenario before
And the pain is more than I can endure
Where is the romance that got us to here?
Because you know my heart needs you to be near
You say I'm just living in the past
And our love will never last
With all this pressure
That you are under
From me and your peers
Telltale signs
She don't love you anymore
ALL is so underrated. Scott is a fantastic singer, period.

In a perfect world this would be the proper pop music played on the radio.

@wimpy27 yeh, i agree, i thought the mixing was wierd, in some parts u can hardly hear what the guitars playing, the bass sorta drowns it out, and the drums arnt as sharp as other ALL albums, i recon the bass sounds fucking rad. but ye amazing album!

I agree that this album is very underrated. Across the board this is solid songwriting with interesting instrumentation to back it up. One of my all-time top concert moments was getting to see ALL play Casual Girl live in Hollywood a few months ago. I ran into Karl on the street a few years ago shortly after buying this record and he said he thinks it's, "not a great album". I disagree.
