In 2004 NonFiction Media followed a Special Forces Chaplain to Fort Benning, GA as he underwent Paratrooper training with the Army's 507th Parachute Infantry. Hoo-Ah Airborne indeed!
(con't) jump week was a real kick. Funny I never felt afraid jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, but I am STILL afraid of being on a tall building. Of course, I always had butterflies along with excitement. AIRBORNE - ALL THE WAY
I volunteered airborne because the recruiting trooper looked so stract in his starched kakis, spit-shined jump boots, and pants legs bloused. Funny thing, I am afraid of heights, so I had something to prove to myself. Ground week learning PLFs. To this day, at 75, I have fallen off ladders etc and knowing the PLF has saved me many times from injury. Tower week was exhilirating. When the chute was lifted that last few feet to bounce the holding rings off the hook caused the stomach to "lurch".
@Nick112234 82nd airborne jumping out of planes, 101st air assault reppelling from helicopters, have really good pt score, or get it in your contract at meps
I was an O1 when I was in then 42nd Company. I think that even an O9 respects his wings. I was in the 82nd,,3/505,,,then the 101st in Vietnam. Take 30 men with autoguns and walk in the woods. Very Scary.
Can females go to airborne jumo school?

I still shake my head after 35 years. I don't know how my Recruiter talked me into doing this, but I'm glad he did. AIRBORNE!
