Amtrak trains that pass through Jacksonville, Florida all do a ninety-degree turn to avoid downtown. This is an impressive, sometimes squeaky venture, even from the passenger's perspective. I took this video on the AutoTrain, as it headed north (no stop at JAX) from the interior of the train's lounge car on June 30, 2009. You can see the two locomotives in the lead and many of the train's cars. It's the best such view south of the Horseshoe Curve!
