I gotta say my childhood was much richer thanks to Captain Kangaroo and Fred Rogers. Flippo and Luci and her toyshop come in there a close third and fourth!

After we moved from Dayton to Columbus I never saw Cpt. K again, but Flippo was my first TV friend. Thanks for this!

How was he King? Was it a constitutional monarchy, or did he actually administer public policy and public security? Was it hereditary; was there a possibility of of matrilineality?

Any Kangaroophiles know where I can find a segment where Miss Worm sings "Piano Roll Blues?" My mother was Miss Worm voice!

Note that Kangaroo's weekday show was on at 8:15 rather than 8 AM on channel 10. This was because back then, CBS offered affiliates a "window" to join the program at :15, if they so desired, and use the 8 AM slot for local programming (usually the local news).
