I agree, Americans are wasteful consumers, however, this is not just a housing crisis. People who could afford their homes and who had afforded their homes for over 15 years, are now losing their jobs. Also with the increasing price of gas, food and taxes, losing your home may be inevitable. Many people who were uneducated in the mortgage process were victims of this ARM. You don't have to lose your son in a war or your house to feel empathy for someone who did. We need leaders with solutions
