Alan Turing is most widely known for his critical involvement in the codebreaking at Bletchley Park during the Second World War. But Alan Turing was not just a codebreaker.

Read the enigma code history, the Polish did dechiper An Enigma machine and gave it to the French and the British. BUT the Enigma machine was not a Fixed machine because the Germans kept renewing, and recycled it into new type of Enigma machine with different set of rules and systems SO the one that was dechipered by the Polish was completely useless, therefore the British gave Turing and his team at Beltchley to work on solving this problem..
