  • What evidence is their to support the theory they were of mixed racial backgrounds. Could these not have been slaves?

  • @LadyFlusterbustle They were brown not red. lol ;)

Sun tanned more likely from working outside, fishing all day, etc.

  • The women were "lawyers"? Hmm, no actual evidence for this since Linear A has never been deciphered. We have no idea if the Minoans even had lawyers ( very unlikely ). Similarly, the idea that the "doctors" were women is pure speculation based on nothing. One should take these statements with a large dose of salt. As for the seats 'specifically designed for women" I am not sure what this means.

  • Nice video. You can discover a lot more about Minoans at ANCIENT LIGHTS dot o-r-g

  • The external layer of Knossos was constructed of crystals that threw off changing coloured lights giving the building a mysterious aura. Blocks of stone were cut to architect's specifications, each with the mason's sign, showing the Minoan no slave policy. Earthquake-proof wooden columns, upturned trunks (to stop growth) were placed on alabaster discs, to enable movement. Petitioners led through sections, sixteen at a time. Staircases were slanted so the guard could easily descend if necessary.

  • Men were depicted red. As traders harvesters, masons, they had suntans, women white, because they were the lawyers, doctors, teachers. @ :40 judges chamber frescos of the eagle and lion signify the court was the highest in the land against which there was no appeal and the seats were specifically designed for women. So far as was known there were no living sacrifices made at The court of Human Rights at Knossos where the Queen Minos had her court. Explained to me by a Cretian Dr. of Archeology.

  • Love the litte pet on the ground :)..yeah so minor
