Andrew Lloyd Webber
``Joseph And His Amazing
Technicolour Dreamcoat´´

Close Every Door
Song Version By: Phillip Schofield

Close every door to me
Hide all the world from me
Bar all the windows and shut out the light
Do what you want with me
Hate me and laugh at me
Darken my daytime and torture my night

If my life were important
I would ask will I live or die
But I know the answers lie far from this world

Close every door to me
Keep those I love from me
Children of Israel are never alone
For I know I shall find my own peace of mind
For I have been promised a land of my own

Just give me a number instead of my name
Forget all about me and let me decay

If my life were important I
Would ask will I live or die
But I know the answers lie far from this world

Close every door to me keep those I love from me
Children of Israel are never alone
For we know we shall find our own peace of mind
For we have been promised a land of our own

  • It's funny how this is based on a Bible story, I am an atheist and I love this song!

  • I'm singing this for an audition on Sunday. Wish my luck. :)

  • @deljolley007 I agree. The bible is so important to read, whether or not you're religeous. It is the basis of so much great art, literature and music both classical and not and a huge influence on so many cultures and societies.

  • Seems to me that it's not that some people don't believe in God... it's just that the chip on their shoulder is too big to take a look around themselves.

  • So many atheists are surprised that they can like something that's based on the bible.... Think of your favorite classic story... chances are that the author of that work was influenced or inspired by a story found in the bible. What surprises me is that so many people who claim to believe more in the tangible than intangible completely ignore a book that was written centuries ago and gives us valuable insights to the history of politics, sociology, theology, etc even down to diet and sex life.

  • Andrew Llyod Webber is pure EPICNESS!!!!!! That is now offcially a word in the dictionary of AWESOMNESS!!!!!

  • @TheScw22 Me too.
