Wow, I just looked at Ankiel's AAA stats in 2001. He pitched a total of 4.1 innings in 3 games, had a 20.77 ERA, walked 17 batters, threw 12 wild pitches, and yet he never hit a batter and only allowed 3 hits.

Back on June 20, 2000, he struck out Barry Bonds three times. I don't know if Bonds has struck out three times against the same pitcher since. Just shows how nasty he could have been if he didn't lose it.

He got off the mound, picked up a bat, and the rest is his history. Great Story. I like this guy. Not to mention he has a hose coming out of the outfield. I mean throwin out people from the wall taking one step is pretty freakin sickk.
