My first time lapse video of International Relief Team volunteers building a new home for Mississippi Gulf Coast victims of Katrina. The video was shot over a six day period, 8-9 hours per day using a Canon S90. I used a CHDK firmware hack and a Ultra Intervalometer script to take the time lapse photos every 2 minutes - yielding about 120 photos/day. The photos were cropped and processed in Photoshop and assembled using Final Cut Pro.

The house was built by volunteers from International Relief Teams (IRT), a San Diego charity that does worldwide humanitarian relief. The construction team of IRT arrived on the Gulf Coast shortly after Katrina hit six years ago and has sent a team volunteers every two months since. IRT will finish up with Katrina repairs in the first quarter of 2012. Onsite coordination and logistical support has been provided by the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR)

We started with a basic foundation on Monday morning and by Saturday afternoon we had a house completely framed, roofed, sided and all doors and windows in.
