Viewing Kurosawa's works you should start with his best, Seven Samurai. Then High and Low. Then the great color film Ran. He is an artist in the ranks of Mozart , Michelangelo, Van Gogh, and John Ford. His films ARE important.

Senkichi Taniguchi is the movie director, the senior fellow of Kurosawa in TOHO, never childhood friend.
Kurosawa wrote some works for him.
