@brisco42 The likes of Ran and Kagemusha are epic in that they are true art masterpieces, but as movies they don't cut it for me. To me, Dersu Uzala and Ikiru work better as films because they are more powerful in captivating an audience. But either way, that's what makes Kurosawa if not the greatest, one of the greatest film makers of all times, his mastery of this art form is unique, so diverse, so beautiful, so wittily done. A legend that will live forever.

@adamndirtyshame ...youdont know anything about movies if you think that kurosawas movies wouldve been better if he couldve done them in 3D..
-
@drchepa hell yeah

his films have very big and tragic moments, he represented the human nature like nobody else, beside this, he great superb masterpieces, he was in my humble opinion the best movie director in history.

@gango13 Exactly. To compare Avatar to a Kurosawa film would be like comparing a retarded college student project to an artist's painting.

Is this the guy they got Fedor's nickname from?

@brisco42 no Kenji Mizoguchi no Kurosawa

@AliJalal93 All of this hate isn't very helpful to you or your fellow human beings. I thought we were watching a video about a director. How does it come to this hate talk? How can you hate someone you've never seen or heard speak? People are people. Judge them on their own actions not people's actions. If you judge everybody to be like the worst members of their race then we're all equally shitty.
Viewing Kurosawa's works you should start with his best, Seven Samurai. Then High and Low. Then the great color film Ran. He is an artist in the ranks of Mozart , Michelangelo, Van Gogh, and John Ford. His films ARE important.
