I had this problem. There are several things that can cause it. What I would recommend is you unplug it and make sure the valves are opened all the way where the water lines connect to the pump. Then I would make sure you do not use the fine foam type mesh. Those picked up so much debris in my tank that they would start to create tiny micro bubbles which I thought was from cavitation by the prop. Cause it run clear for about 6 weeks until I noticed the micro bubbles. Check out my channel.

@AdirondackCichlids Its not heat. Its pressure differential Im pretty sure that pulls gas outta the water.

Does the strainer at the bottom of the intake tube have to be 3 inches from the gravel top? My tank is deep and the strainer only reaches about 6 inches above the gravel. :(

I have the FX5 for 5 months now it puts out a jet stream and doesnt make a sound.

On the 405 if u don't prime completely it does that every 10 minutes or if the intake isn't vertical

I can honestly say Fluval are shit i have had 2 fluval filters 205 and 305 ithink and both leaked also i had a fluval tank a visenza or summat and that also leaked fluval are shit imo
