DO NOT DO THIS. This video is for entertainment only and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nokia in any way. See http://thoughtfix.blogspot.com/2007/01/nokia-n800-dissection-and-reassembly.html for high-res photos and a summary. I took apart then put back together my Nokia N800 Internet Tablet.

  • Go to my profile and watch the default video. It'll tell you.

  • lmao @ the memory card, that looked so damn funny. :D Overall, very nice job. :) The longest part was the final system load. :)

  • Yeah. It'd have been easier if the label on the memory card didn't peel back and stick in the slot. Thanks for the comment!

  • Can you play online games on this device? Anyway, cool video. It would take me ages to dissect something like that. Did u rehearse :) ?

  • Not currently, but with the Linux core it is not unforeseeable.

  • Hi, I saw your video oddly through some third party download site which had me download some .flv file... anyways...I wanted to ask you if the backlight is flourescent or LED? I am not sure what to assume for a device from 2008? Thank you for hacking the n800 apart for the rest of us!

  • @MaGaO Yeah, too bad Ubuntu doesn't work properly on it (Sound is broke) and Angstrom is still buggy and I can never see it finishing development, but that's not there fault (too many damn phones on the market).

  • @OldTimeyJunk There are a lot of N8x0s still running around. Perhaps one day someone will manage to get a fully free kernel to work on it. I'm not counting on Nokia though.

  • @waterproffradio Actually you can. They are the small white squares on the lower side at 1:15

  • @Sinisterene You still own one of these? Nice work! I've still got one too :D They're awesome!

  • @angelicricky ITS NOT A PHONE!!!!

  • PS: thanx :D

I needed this to learn how to take out the faceplate to replace the screen protector

  • Gracias a ti, he podido arreglar mi N800, que llevaba días sin prender, y como vivo en la ciudad de México aquí no hay donde los reparen, así que ya estaba a punto de tirarlo, gracias en verdad.

Thank you, I could fix my N800, which took days without turn on, I'm Mexican and here are no repair, so I was about to throw it away, thank you so much.

P.D. Sorry for my english,I'm student and I don't speak very well english.

  • That doesn't mean in english what it approximates to in latin languages :|
