Yes. I had The Bard's Tale 2 for the Commodore 64. (still do actually, for a C64 emulator) 1 thing about older RTS games, the graphics weren't great (obviously), so the games left much to imagination. Players (@ least myself) tended to develop stronger bonds w/their adventuring party. (compared to modern RTS games) You'd feel & care more for your party members, like if they got killed, when you equip/upgrades them, when they level up, etc. I don't get the same feeling with modern RTS games.
