Decide if you will string a one piece or hybrid (two piece) string job. Currently many professionals have been using hybrids. This allows one to have the durability of a polyester string such as Big Banger with the control or flexibility of Natural Gut.
Measure out string accordingly from the reel or pack of string. If stringing a one piece from a reel measure 40 feet. If a 2 piece, measure 20 feet from each pack of string.

String the mains, making sure to skip the cross grommets. If stringing a one piece, one side of the mains will be the 'short side' which is either 8 or 9 mains long depending on your racquet pattern. If stringing a 2 piece, then each side of mains will be equal.
Tie off the short side of the mains if stringing a one piece (tie both sides if stringing a 2 piece)
Tie your first cross knot.
Begin your crosses.
One needs to weave all the crosses so that the cross string is alternated "under and over" mains. Simply run your finger over the cross string to make sure it is alternating over the mains"
Tie off you cross string and your finished. The best way to learn how to string a tennis racquet is visually. I suggest getting a DVD. It is worth the $20.
