How do they balance the game with the Predators shoulder mounted gun?

Your question is complex, so the answer.

1) Some servers simply disabling the Predator's shoulder cannon. Good.

2) I've played AVP2 as Predator few times (very few times). And I can tell You, without the auto-aim feature, that shoulder cannon isn't such powerfull weapon.

AND that auto-aim depends on the Predator's momentary vision mode. Let me explain this with an example. If the Predator hunt for Humans, an Alien can easily frag him. Because that Predator only hardly can see the cold Aliens.

Yes, rocket launcher is the Survivor's last and only, final weapon.

Team DeathMatch, that's a different story. When I play in TDM as a Marine/Corporal, my best friend is the old, trusty M41A, 10mm machinegun.

This is the best weapon a human can get. Any other weapon, is too powerull, or too weak. And I have to AIM with that old machinegun, as well. And that's cool.

Grenade launcher is built in. With few ammo. That's only the part of the balance.

I can't wait for the AvP3. Forgive me...

When I played this, I would have the alien life-cycle on, and I would have the aliens molt into a queen after just 1 kill. I would balance that by only having 1 alien, and by giving the other races their best equipment and an extra player... It was madness.

you forgot to mention it uses energy, which needs to be recharged, usually get owned whilst doing that.

If U are a skilled player, U can dodge the plasma proyectile with an alien, then pounce or tail hit, and in a couple of hits the predator will to die ^^... If U are human, come on boy! the plasma gun isn't the best weapon against marines, grab Ur favorite projectile based weapon and frag the green blooded bitch

agree Avp 3 trailers lauched and gameplays bu the game when??? the predator looks cool in avp 3(named extinction) cant wait to be alien again and yes the machine gun an old good friend of the humans and dont forget the sonar or radar i dont know how to say in english(sry ^^) that thing from the game that showes the distance between you and and enemy ^^ ye man avp rocks ^^
