I would want to visualize a smaller screen for two reasons
1. for playing at a lower rez without blowing up the image
2. because a 24 inch screen when playing a game with fast movement such as a racing car game hurts my eyes, too much screen for up close fast movement
However never for movies or sitting at a distance would I run the smaller virtual screen sizes

Whats the name of the ASUS screan that you mention?

@thefootballer1089 Seems like it... I really don't know anything about monitors, but since it has a contrast of 10 millions to 1 and 2 ms delay, it seems very good...

would this be good for 2d gaming as well? would it better to get just a normal 2d monitor. im probably not gonna be playing much 3d, and does it work it with amd video card?? thanks

can you give me the name of the game you used

@AsWeStandLiving trine 2
the scaling is also a feature tournament users like to practice with, if they know the monitors they will be playing on in the tournament is a different size, they can now get used to it before arrival.

Well that is a easy answer, if you play cs or css, you play with 1024x768 or less, this monito changes the scaling for you each time! so you onley need to put 800x600 in your cs or css menu and the monitor scale, so it wont drage the picture over the screen with onley 800x.
