This is a catapult we made for our AP Physics class. After trial and error, this is our final product. The projectile is a 1lb pumpkin. The pumpkin travels 30-35ft into a bucket.

  • The objective of this catapult was to launch a small pumpkin with accuracy at a distance of 30ft which was a achieved. For the long distance test, the catapult with launched a small pumpkin over 218 feet and placed second overall in our school. The catapult was well engineered, and to all you haters. suck it.

  • hey you no that garage. right up there there is a huge spring why dont you get a brain and use that instead of your whimpy one

  • The way this was filmed made it look as little impressive as possible. I can't admire the mechanism I don't see, and it looks like you shot a virtually weightless ball, especially considering someone deemed it safe enough to catch.

  • sounds like my headboard hitting the wall when my gf comes over :)

  • That is a good catapult but i mad one out of a mousetrap and it still fires the same distance

  • So your catapult is adequate for its intended purpose and for that congrats, however for an advanced placement course this seems a little half assed. Its a really inefficient design and you have almost no control over the distance. My guess is that its range is minimal. Granted no one cares at this point since this is 2 years old... Grats on winning your competition. I wish I had a video of my ap physics catapult to show you guys. I could launch a baseball over a kilometer accurate to 50'

  • it is a large trampoline spring

  • Hey thats a cool looking catapult may i ask where u got the metal thing to use for tension because i have to build one now :"(

  • holy shit look at the size of those houses

  • rofl, you should have put that in the video description.
