@teddyrubskin I sense a disturbance in the Roce, as if millions of lives suddenly came into existence and were gradually beginning to go about their buisiness.

That has to be the most simplistic, unenlightened review of this superior film I've ever seen. lol I especially enjoyed the image of the Enterprise A from Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country at 1:44.

and who would have known that ST:90210 would actually be entertaining and fun to watch and bring new life to the series for the old and the young.
i think thats quite an achievement, making it appealing to the masses and even to some who didnt like anything trek before in the past.

This movie is REALLY FUCKIN AWESOME!!! It has grown on me so much. Not a huge super mega trek nerd, but this is such a beautifully and well done film. The action, the drama, the score, the directing, the acting, all blends together so very well. I mean, it really does work as a stand alone film. Like I said before, you can show to people who are aren't even trek fans, and they will like it. Also, I can see why people dislike it, but why all the hate for st: tmp ? I like it, but this is better..

Agreed. This movie is really awesome.
0:33 So basically the Genesis device is the exact opposite of Star Wars' Death Star, which only brings death to thriving planets. If I remember correctly, it's opposite both in size and functionality

TMP was slow paced, very little action... i like star trek because of the action as well as the story, when you remove the action or the action fails to impress... its hard to enjoy the story.
the wrath of khan melded both and had a good story as well with the genesis torpedo and khan, it works even if you weren't familiar with the original series. I'm not saying that TMP had a bad story, i thought it was decent but this strikes gold in more then 1 way.
nemesis was my fave 1 :P new one rocked2

@3dwardXP Yah, Star Trek 2 came out a year after Das Boot, a German submarine movie that I think inspired them... the torpedoes, the running silent in the nebula's cloud and the awesome villain... later movies, including 2009 borrow from that inspiration....
... you aren't gonna like what I say about Nemesis
