  • @olteandan What your idea of paragliding might not be someone else's. I fly with a motor but I don't begrudge the idea of free flight and you can do what you want. Towing is an excellent training tool.

  • I don't know what to say, despite the fact I'm a guy who likes new stuff, I don't think some things should be tried. In fact, I'm saying that the paraglider should be a totally clean carrier. I don't like the idea of motoparagling and other gas/fuel consumption vehicles to do this kind of sport. The idea of paragliding is to use nature to acquire speed and and to cross distance. Is the only way to enjoy all the benefits of this sport and to protect nature as well.

  • COOL

  • P.S. google "torrey Pines gliderport" the website is the top result; flytorrey*

  • I learned there. Just walk into the gliderport. Ask for Robin, he's the owner/operator now.

I'd advise you to get your P2 before signing up if you can, because their training is structured as packages around ratings. If you don't get the package it's a daily fee of $195, so unless you can bang out your P2 in a day or two it would get pricey. Your P3 would be $895 if you had a P2 rating. A P2 package would be $1175 if you only had a P1. Buy gear and they'll be very understanding no doubt.

  • I live an hour north of Torrey Pines; You work with them? I've done a 2 day class, at Eagle Paragliding and I'm not far from my P2 rating. I've done 14 solo flights.

    Where should I make contact'?

  • Torrey Pines in San Diego has a school set up with very stable flying conditions but there are instructors all over the country. There's no need to go abroad to learn.

  • Cool video. Thanks.
