Hello all, I've already completed the quest but wanted to share a shortcut I found that is only an alternative to completing this quest the intended way. Consider this a "cheat" if you will, for those that are frustrated with the current 4.3.0.15050 sniper range and new patrols. Please keep in mind that the NPC's no longer appear after you complete the quest for "Assassinate Creed". Please also keep in mind this is only a tip I'd like to share with all fellow players and wanted to contribute something helpful. I apologize in advance for the graphics (video capture by Snagit 5.0.2). I hope the explanation is sufficient.
Getting Started:
Once you accept the quest from the NPC, you can use a normal mount (or flying if you don't try to fly it) and ride around Gilneas as shown in the video.
I used AUTO DISMOUNT in the menu options to dismount and go stealth once your reach the target roof. Measure a good height and charge/fly to the target roof spot. Try to use "Safe Fall" as part of your glyph so you lessen your HP damage when you fall and land. It may take a few tries, but I was able to land without being teleported back to the NPC
There will be patrols everywhere. Just watch the pattern from the roof top till you feel safe to make your move. There are TWO WAYS you can do it. The sloppy noob way is to Sprint Jump from the roof and charge the courtyard then VANISH when you get caught. You will agro patrols this way but you are still given a few seconds before you're teleported. If you make it to the courtyard in this patch, the NPC's stop following you and will reset while the boss stands there ready. The SECOND way as shown on the video is to jump on the branch of the tree below, then when the pats are clear, SAP the Guard on the LEFT-SIDE of the courtyard entrance, then enter.
Good luck, hope this was useful.
After two straight hours of frustration with random unstealthing and being netted when no guard was even looking at me, I tried this way and it worked, thank you.

@yargmouth That is awesome! I'm glad it worked out for you. I felt that it was very buggy too. Eventually I'm sure that will be patched. Till then, here's the alternative!
