  • Nigel's stance on supporting his old buddies in the City is quite vexing. A man of his obvious intelligence must realise that the majority of blame for the current financial crisis lies at the feet of those institutions he is supporting. Also, should we not be talking about the re-industrialisation of Britain and ridding ourselves of the financial crime syndicates? I have been a Ukipper for some time but I am wavering on renewing my subscription because of this point.

  • @expat08 It's nothing of the sort. Do you think bankers pay this tax? No. Their customers do. It's just another way of extorting money from consumers by wrapping it up with the bogeyman of the moment.

  • Don't let the Greedy Eurocrats pull the UK into their lazy bankrupt graves!

  • we shall fight them on the beaches....

  • @expat08 you have no idea what you're talking about! A tobin tax would be a disaster! Unfortunately very few people have the necessary knowledge to understand this and fall pray to idiotic and stupid ideas!

  • @expat08 i agree.incentivise the producers not the parasites

  • @ukipwebmaster One point I agree with Nigel about is that the Tobin tax should be levied internationally. One of the problems with this, and it answers your question, is that the financial institutions will just pass on the tax to their customers in the form of a hidden cost - so, you and I are in agreement mostly. The reliance on one industry, which I believe is already corrupt, is the UK's Achille's Heal as is evidenced by Nigel's statement.

  • My EU Referendum Campaign Lapel Badge has just arrived - wonderful.

  • @jjcale1111 "Banksters" can't exist without regulations protecting them. That's called corporatism and can only exist with some level of socialism, centralization.

  • Cant fight EU centralisation (ie globalisation) and defend the banksters at the same time.

Farage needs to make up his mind.
